You can coat them in sugar, drizzle sauce over them, dip them in chocolate or fill them with soft warm apples. There are just so many different ways to enjoy doughnuts.
We were recently sent some new Robinsons Fruit Shoot jams to put to the test and the first thing I that came to mind was doughnuts - so we decided to make some!
Miniature in size these are perfect for picnics or parties.
Ingredients (Makes approx 20)
225g Self raising flour
140ml milk
130g caster sugar
45ml oil
1 egg
Pinch of salt
Robinsons Fruit Shoot Strawberry jam to dip/drizzle/fill
Method
- Combine the egg, milk and oil in a bowl
- Pour into the sugar, flour and salt and stir well to remove any lumps. It should create a thick batter
- We placed heaped tablespoons into our doughnut making machine to create the rounded shape however you can place balls into hot oil (medium heat) and cook for around 5 minutes until lightly golden
- Drizzle the jam over the top, insert inside or place in a small bowl to dunk the doughnuts in
- Scoff!
What is your favourite doughnut topping?
