Minxy is at the age where the usual cute crafts and activities don't keep her as entertained as they used to, so we've been making lots of hair and beauty goodies together recently which she adores!
These lip scrubs are really quick and easy to complete, with just a few ingredients required, and they would be something tweens would enjoy creating at sleepovers or to receive as alternative gifts at parties.
Ingredients
1 tbsp Olive Oil
3 tbsp Caster Sugar
2 Drops of Food Colouring
2 Drops of Vanilla (or alternative flavouring)
Method
- In a bowl, mix together the sugar and oil thoroughly
- Add in the colouring and flavouring and stir it well. You can add more/less of these to give a colour and consistency that you like. You can also use gel versions
- Split the mixture between 4 small lidded pots
- To use, pick up some of the mixture on your fingertip and rub it on your lips as a gentle exfoliator. Rinse/wipe off any excess
We chose pink for our lip scrubs as it was a nice contrast with the black pots and it's also a favourite shade of Minxy's.
What activities do your tweens enjoy?
